Ieuter Insurance, Hastings Mutual Insurance gifts $4,000 to Camp Fish Tales

Camp Fish Tales received $4,000 grant from Ieuter Insurance Group and the Hastings Mutual Insurance Company. These funds will support camper scholarships so everyone can enjoy camp. The policy of the CFT Board of Directors and staff leadership is to never turn a prospective camper away based on their ability to pay.

CFT had just over 200 campers enjoying Camp Fish Tales this year. With increasing numbers, CFT is receiving requests for more and more scholarships for both their week long camp sessions and respite weekends.

“We are so grateful to Ieuter Insurance Group and the Hastings Mutual Insurance Company. The opportunity for individuals with disabilities to meet and make new friends while participating in fishing, archery, art and crafts, rock wall climbing and boating is life changing. Our campers look forward to their week at camp all year long!” stated Executive Director Shannon Forshee.

Camp Fish Tales is a barrier-free, accessible camp located on 67 acres located on the corner of Erickson and Old State Road between Pinconning and Linwood. Camp Fish Tales serves individuals of all ages with varying types of disability in order to ensure an enjoyable and enriching experience for all campers. Our mission is to provide a unique and exciting outdoor learning experiences where individuals with special needs interact and develop skills that enhance their health, abilities, independence and quality of life. The goal of camp is to promote an atmosphere for individuals with disabilities to meet and make new friends while participating in growth activities.
