Four mutual funds report positive earnings, approves dividends

The mutual funds are: AB Bank 1st Mutual Fund, EBL NRB Mutual Fund, Popular Life First Mutual Fund, and PHP First Mutual Fund

Four mutual funds reported positive earnings and approved cash dividends to their unit holders on Wednesday in separate filings with Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). 

The cash dividends were approved based on the net income and retained earnings for the year ended on June 30, 2021.

The mutual funds are: AB Bank 1st Mutual Fund, EBL NRB Mutual Fund, Popular Life First Mutual Fund, and PHP First Mutual Fund. 

AB Bank 1st Mutual Fund approved an 8% cash dividend. In its DSE filing, the fund said that its earnings per unit (EPU) was Tk2.61 for the year ended on June 30, 2021, up from Tk1.8 in the negative for the previous financial year. 

The mutual fund made its debut on DSE on January 29, 2021, and the closing price for each of its units was Tk7.4 during Wednesday’s session. 

Meanwhile, EBL NRB Mutual Fund approved a 6% cash dividend. The fund reported an EPU of Tk1.92 for the year ended on June 30, 2021, up from Tk1.35 in the negative for the same period of the previous year.

The closing price for each of its units was also Tk7.4.

Moreover, Popular Life First Mutual Fund approved an 8.5% cash dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2021. 

The fund also reported EPU of Tk2.08 for the year ended on June 30, up from Tk1.23 in the negative for the same period of the previous year.

Its closing price was Tk6.9.

Finally, PHP First Mutual Fund has approved another 8.5% cash dividend. The fund reported EPU of Tk2.04 for the year ended on June 30, 2021, up from Tk1.23 in the negative for the same period of the last year.

The closing price for each of its units was Tk7.2 during Wednesday’s session.
