Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed lower in the Friday’s session.

Hind.Foods(up 5.72%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 4.42%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 3.61%), Varun Beverages(up 2.55%), Umang Dairies(up 2.24%), Prataap Snacks(up 1.23%), Bajaj Consumer(up 0.70%), Jyothy Labs(up 0.42%), P & G Hygiene(up 0.14%) and ADF Foods(up 0.01%) stood among the top gainers.

JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 3.10%), Nakoda Group(down 2.52%), Hindustan Unilever(down 2.09%), Future Consumer(down 1.92%), Nestle India(down 1.59%), Heritage Foods(down 0.99%), Britannia Industries(down 0.99%), Dabur India(down 0.84%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.61%) and Parag Milk(down 0.54%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 2.05 points down at 18255.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 12.27 points at 61223.03.

TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 4.42%), Tata Consultancy(up 1.8%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 1.77%), Infosys(up 1.72%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.31%), HDFC Bank(up 1.12%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.1%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.02%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.0%) and Shree Cement(up 0.83%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Asian Paints(down 2.66%), Axis Bank(down 2.57%), Hindustan Unilever(down 2.09%), UPL Ltd(down 1.94%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.77%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.65%), Nestle India(down 1.59%), HDFC(down 1.58%), Wipro(down 1.53%) and Bharti Airtel(down 1.53%) closed in the red.
