Should you buy?
This fund takes sizeable presence in small caps beyond its mid cap focus given the faster, longer growth runway for smaller businesses. The fund portfolio is reasonably diversified, with healthy positions in its top bets. The fund manager prefers businesses that offer scalability with multi-year compounding opportunity. The fund performance suffered between 2016 and 2019 with early bets on economic recovery not faring well. However, the fund has put in a strong showing since 2020 with the fund ranking in the top quartile in its category. The presence of a veteran fund manager at its helm gives comfort for the long term.
